Greater Glens Falls
Bible Baptist Church
"The church that dares
                             to be different"
   Welcome

We promise not to ENTERTAIN you; we are committed to EDIFYING you with God's Word.

Dear Friend,

Thank you for visiting our website.

The Bible Baptist Church is over forty-nine years old.  For all those years we have maintained our Biblical distinction.

Our goal is to obey Christ in carrying out both aspects of the great commission:

                            (1)  Get people saved and baptized (evangelism).

                            (2)  Disciple them by teaching all things Jesus
                                   commanded (edification).

The Bible Baptist Church accomplishes these two responsibilities by

(1) preaching services
(2) Sunday school classes
(3) Ladies' meetings
(4) Men's meetings
(5) Bible conferences
(6) Revival meetings
(7) Christian school K-12
(8) Bible Institute and College (1 yr, 2yr, and 4 yr)
(9) a Christian Counseling program.
(10) The Patch-the-Pirate program for children (pre-teen).

Thank you for visiting our website. We welcome you and encourage you to pray about joining us for a service.

We may not give you what you want, but we promise to give you what you need.

Sincerely in Christ,

Guy G. Goodell, Pastor

Pastor and Mrs. Goodell have been a ministry team for fifty-five years. They have been at Bible Baptist Church for forty-one years. Guy was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and Jean was born in Huntington, West Virginia. They met at Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga, Tennessee in 1960.

They were married in Jean's home church, Buffalo Valley Baptist Church, June 19, 1964, with Jean's brother (Gary O'Don Smith) officiating. Their theme for ministry is "ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake."

Jean worked to support their family while Guy completed his education, and then Guy worked while Jean continued her education. In each church where Guy has served as pastor, Jean has been an integral part of the ministry with the ladies of the church and with the Christian School ministry (K-12).

Both are trained educators, and each has served in both state education and Christian education.
